About the Project

  • This framework of Al-Ansar Foundation coincides with the multifaceted development strategy of Borno State Government under the current leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mnl to propagate peace, educate and Inform citizens in order to advance the social, cultural and economic affairs of the State and the nation at large.
  • Sequel to the Borno State Government Invitation to individuals, corporate organizations, NGOs as well as other interested parties to partake in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of post-insurgency Borno, the Al-Ansar Foundation, In response to the above clarion call, decided to establish Al-Ansar Radio and TV / Station with the sole aim of creating a peaceful environment and sustainable development through the use of its platform.

Position Description

  • The Chief Engineer provides technical support to broadcast facilities in repair, maintenance, installation and operation of broadcasting equipment
  • She / He is expected to monitor and supervise proper operation and function of broadcast equipment as well as putting measures for setting policies and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the proper operation of radio transmitters and other equipment in the station.

The Chief Engineer is expected to:

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electronic computer-based broadcasting systems.
  • S/he will repair and maintain equipment in emergency and preventive situations.
  • Set up, operate and maintain various broadcasting equipment such as transmitters, pie rack equipment, transmission line, and antenna system for the station; check equipment for operational readiness and provide operational as assistance/instruction to others needed.
  • Prepare and maintain various technical records and engineering logs pertaining to broadcast equipment performance and discrepancies, and report the same In management for further action.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate remote/outside broadcast facility.
  • Test and align new equipment prior to installation.
  • Develop a standardized operating manual for the daily operation broadcast equipment
  • Software and hardware and also be able to make Suggestions for and equipment when and where necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Broadcast Engineering or Computer Engineering related courses
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in broadcast engineering, which Includes equipment Installation, management, repair end maintenance
  • Demonstrable experience in maintaining and operating transmission equipment
  • Knowledge in maintenance, usage and design of technical broadcast equipment
  • Must be able to work on stable deadlines or within live production environments
  • Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to recall extensive technical knowledge quickly.
  • Must be detail-oriented in order to identify and prevent potential technical issues
  • Must be able to prioritize, maintain a flexible work schedule and ability to work long hours at very short notice.
