The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) commenced operation in 1957, it was granted Charter status under the provision of Act No. 22 on 26th February, 1993. Under the Charter, the Institute (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) has been charged with the general duty of determining the standards of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to become registered members of the Insurance profession in Nigeria.
The Institute is seeking to recruit performance-driven professionals with capacity and the right attitude to deliver exceptional results in the position below:

Job Responsibilities
Specifically, the ideal candidate will:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to the management team to drive the Institute towards sustainable growth
- Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process and define the compliance benchmark standards for the Institute
- Establish and ensure the implementation of short, medium and long term business strategies to achieve the Institutes objectives such as annual membership and financial growth plan
- Lead the implementation of defined corporate culture and change management initiatives for the Institute
- Proactively respond to opportunities and challenges in the business environment Liaise with the Government across all levels from National Assembly, MDAs and State levels, regulatory bodies such as NAICOM and stakeholder groups such as NIA and Trade Institutes in the Insurance Industry with a view to ensuring that the Institute’s interests are presented and protected
- Identify opportunities to improve the Institute's brand awareness and increase visibility especially through its online presence and social media handles. In addition, create an enabling environment that empowers management and staff to develop capabilities required to achieve set goals
- Reports directly to the President and serves as Secretary to all the Committees of the Council.
Specifications / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Social Sciences discipline such as Insurance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Banking etc.
- MBA or relevant Master's degree in any business-related discipline.
- Professional membership of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) is compulsory.
- Other relevant professional membership and/or certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, CII UK will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years post-graduation experience with at least 7 years’ experience in the Insurance industry and in toplsenior management positions.
- Evidence of strong industry / sector participation.
- Knowledge of preparing annual budget and development plan is key.
