Job description
The responsibilities of Drilling Operations Manager include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for safe team work with respect to all rig operations
- Promote the principles of continuous improvement
- Maintain good two way communication with team members at the rig and base
- Coordinate the development of newly appointed senior team members landbase
- Ensure regulatory compliance is properly maintained
- Participate in company required and recommended training
- Provide guidance and support to personnel as required
- Ensure compliance with company's HSEQ Management System
- Liaise with the client’s representatives, in the execution of contract obligations
- Focal point for client representatives
- Other duties as assigned by senior management
- Work to keep personnel turnover to a minimum
- Guide rig personnel in pre-planning upcoming jobs with materials on hand to ensure that all planned and unplanned opportunities are maximized
- Maintain competent and capable rig crews and provide leadership in fostering the “safety-is-a-value” culture
- Assist in annual budget preparations and cost control procedures and be accountable for rig operating budget results
- Ensure that standards of supervision and personnel performance are monitored and communicated to rig crews through verbal communication and performance appraisals
- Ensure equipment repair and returns are monitored and expedited and certification requirements met
- Perform audits and rig inspections as necessary to maintain the highest operational standards
- Ensure that interfaces to operator HSEQ programs are defined and understood by rig crews.
- Support the provision of consulting and specialist services related to all aspects the operation of assigned rigs
Requirements:
- Drilling Operations Manager will have minimum degree in Petroleum Engineering or any equivalent qualification
- 15+ years of experience in Supervising Shallow & Deep Water projects
