Africa Magic seeks to appoint a pro-active and dedicated individual to assume responsibility as a Marketing Lead: Africa Magic Channels, on a permanent basis and be in-charge of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. This person will report to the Regional Director for West Africa. The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria

Outputs
Services and information which the individual must provide to external individuals or groups, to accomplish the organization’s mission and strategy and objectives for Africa Magic Channels.

  • Develop annual marketing plans in-line with the allocated budget and show an ability of working on tight budgets by utilizing creative solutions
  • Conceptualize and brief-in campaigns to ad agencies and oversee the campaign and the relevant processes
  • Be in-charge of all on air-imaging and communication and liaise with the production house accordingly
  • Act as brand custodian for the Africa Magic Channels and continually evaluate and improve the positioning of these brands to ensure that they are aligned to the company’s overall objectives, mission and vision
  • Managing launch campaigns for the Africa Magic Channels, and overseeing their effective maintenance
  • Be in charge of and oversee all promotional communication and placements on channel by showing an understanding of audience flow and viewing trends
  • Build a good working relationship with DStv Media Sales in order to maximize the commercial potential of these channels
  • With the help of the research department, track research trends and react with appropriate plans and measures
  • Lead the Marketing team for Africa Magic, promoting all the Africa Magic Channels content
  • Analyze and put forward potential partner relationships both internally and externally.
  • Conduct full Evaluation of campaigns and fine-tune processes
  • Write monthly reports and attend meetings with relevant stakeholders to feedback on activities planned for the channels
  • Continually seek ways to improve the image of the channels and build strong awareness of these channels and shows to the relevant target audience

Knowledge / Qualifications
  • A tertiary marketing degree
  • Marketing, advertising and promotional experience
  • Campaign briefing and execution experience
  • Experience in supervising and managing staff
  • Expert in Internet and social media strategy
  • Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in marketing including PR, written communication, website development, market research, product packaging, Microsoft software suite of products, visual communication software products, and creative services
  • Experience managing external PR and communication consulting firms and contractors
  • Event coordination experience
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel)
