Purpose:
  • The purpose of this role is to provide Business Performance Management and Decision Support to Diageo Brands Nigeria Ltd DBNL in achieving set objectives and future growth potentials
Context
Diageo Brands Nigeria Ltd (DBNL) is a wholly owned Nigerian subsidiary of Diageo Plc. The company which began operations on 2nd July, 2010, was established to take over the distribution, sales and marketing of the Diageo spirit brands in Nigeria from a 3rd party distributor/agent. The intention was to expand the range of brands offered in Nigeria and significantly increase availability in both on and off trade.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:

Business Performance Reporting and Analysis
  • Report Diageo Brands Nigeria DBN performance including commentaries to feed into the Nigeria Hub Business Performance Management BPM Deck
  • Accurate and timely preparation of all month end reports and Business Financial Consolidation BFC schedules submission
  • Provide detailed analyses of monthly Diageo Brands Nigeria DBN results by key brand and identify drivers of performanceDecision Support
  • Pricing Decisions: Partner with the Sales and Marketing team on brands by providing accurate value chain scenarios to aid in pricing
  • Manage the entire Diageo Brands Nigeria Ltd DBNL pricing structure and update on an on-going basis.
  • Product Portfolio: Manage the Diageo Brands Nigeria Ltd DBNL product portfolio as the key market contact with the Brand Through Profit BTP team at Diageo Business Shared Service Center DBSC Budapest to ensure that standard costs are correctly set and Intercompany Selling Price ICSP rates are accurate. Responsible for the yearly Intercompany Selling Price ICSP reset process
  • Transfer Pricing: Responsible for the Transfer Pricing engagement and implementation for Diageo Brands Nigeria Ltd DBNL. Liase constantly with the Tax / Brand Through Profit BTP teams at the hub on Trading Profit TP reviews
Financial Accounting and Control
  • Ensure proper Cost Of Goods Sold COGs accounting and reporting. Constantly monitor Cost Of Goods Sold COGs lines in the P&L to ensuring accurate cost reporting
  • Ensure the GN team responsible for posting all necessary journals impacting on revenue and Cost Of Goods Sold COGs are performing them correctly and timely
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant will be an added advantage (ICAN, ACCA, ICMA etc.)
  • Graduate level with intermediate computer skills -spread sheet application, word and power point.
  • Attention to detail and customer focused
  • Self- motivated and well organised
  • Ability to establish effective relationship and communicate clearly with colleagues outside of finance.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with operational decision support activities.
  • Attention to detail, quality and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of an accounting package -System Application Process (SAP)
Experience
  • 5-7years finance experience preferably in Fast Moving Consumer Goods FMCG / commercial environments including demand and supply / operations
  • Takes responsibility and shows clear ownership
  • Track record of consistently delivering to deadlines & standards in a high pressure environment.
  • Strong drive and energy, pro-active self-starter
  • Able to work as part of a team. Starting to understand the principles of coaching and influencing
  • Ability to network and quickly build effective relationships
Barriers to Success in Role
  • Inability to manage and influence a spectrum of key Innovation stakeholders and elicit buy-in and support.
  • Inability to learn fast, adaptation to a new, flexible role and manage relationships with varied stakeholders.
