Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc formerly known as UnityKapital Assurance Plc was incorporated in 1973 as a private liability Company under the name, Kano State Insurance Company.

The company was registered as a general business company; this move was endorsed and approved by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and offers non-life Insurance products and services to individuals and institutions across Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Principal Staff, Business Development

Job Brief

  • The main purpose of the job is to market insurance products and fulfill the company’s vision and mission by way of generating profit and ensure strict compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Also capable of resolving escalated issues arising from the operation and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • The successful candidate is expected to have a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices, corporate governance and evidence a professional track record of marketing Insurance products, able to make strategic decisions that affects the functional area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out direct marketing activities to enhance our market share from the Brokers.
  • Respond to and follow-up sales enquiries by post, telephone and personal visits in respect of the assigned clients/Brokers with the knowledge of the AGM (Business Development)
  • Focus more on the Corporate businesses of our economy, with the aim of increasing our market share
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support and liaising with internal order-processing staff (underwriting etc.)
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Liaising with other colleagues in whatever form for the achievement of organization goals. Example - closing up business, talking with the necessary person(s)
  • Participate in our weekly marketing meetings
  • Prepare weekly activities report.
  • Report to the AGM (Business Development).

Requirements

  • B.Sc or HND Insurance and Actuarial Science, Business Administration or any relevant field
  • Must be ACIIN qualified
  • Professional qualification in Marketing or Master’s degree in Management or related field would be an added advantage.
  • Advanced MS Excel, Power Point and, Word skills
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in the Insurance industry and managing a team is a must – with examples of when they have demonstrated excellence in the workplace.
  • Must display a cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Problem solving skill will also be an added advantage.
