The School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos invites applications from suitably qualified candidates from recognized institutions for admission into the following new Part-Time Maritime Programmes of the
Nigeria Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA) sponsored Institute of Maritime Studies, leading to the award of
- Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Communications & Navigation (PGD-MC)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Environmental Studies (PGD-ME)
The Maritime programmes are designed to equip candidates for exciting career options and/or advancement in Maritime communication, navigation and environmental management
Admission Requirements
The programmes are open to candidates who possess
- Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Earth Sciences, Geography, Surveying, Education Chemistry, Education Biology and other related disciplines of the University of Lagos or any of the recognized Universities.
- HND in relevant disciplines from any of the recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit with at least three (3) years working experience
- Candidates must satisfy all requirements as stipulated by the School of Postgraduate Studies of the University of Lagos. In addition, candidates will be required to undergo a selection process.
Duration of Programme
The duration for the Post Graduate Programmes is 18 months (or 3 semesters)

- Sale of Application forms commences on Wednesday April 16, 2014 and ends Monday May 5, 2014
- Completed application forms must be submitted not later than Wednesday May 7, 2014
- Application Form Fee: N22,500.00 (Twenty Two Thousand and Five Hundred Naira)

- Candidates are advised to read carefully the requirements for their desired programmes to confirm eligibility
- Candidates awaiting Bachelor’s degree result, Nigerian citizens who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps assignment or are currently undergoing Postgraduate programmes are not eligible
- Holders of Degrees obtained from Outreach/Satellite Campuses are not eligible
- Every applicant is required to upload all certificates listed in the application form, such as Degree & Diploma Certificates/Statement of results, NYSC Certificate and other relevant Professional Courses
- All academic transcripts must reach the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies on or before beginning of registration
- Applicants will be required to print the completed Application Form and Photo card. These will be required for submission at the examination/interview Venue
- Candidates are also required to LAMINATE their Photo cards after printing
