Role Summary/Purpose:
The Specialist - Planning is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity within the Oil & Gas Project Management organization. In this role you will follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. In this role you will:

Essential Responsibilities:
  • The Specialist - Planning is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
  • Develop project schedule variances from commitment / order release meeting though contract terms
  • Work to mitigate standard cycles to meet customer / contract needs dates for on-time delivery
  • Schedule meetings to assigned projects with timely and proactive management to cost and cycle impacts
  • Ensure consistent communication and processes across business segments with a focus on all aspects of equipment delivery, i.e. specification, order, manufacture, release, ship, and receipt
  • Assist with implementation of "early warning" identification of potential issues and drive RCA functional ownership to reduce "Cost to Recover" exposure
  • Demonstrate organizational leadership and ownership of key metrics and operational activities, as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of related experience)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a professional work environment.

  • Experience in Project Planning and/or Logistics
  • Experience in energy industry.
  • Experience in planning systems ie: P6
  • High energy level - self-starter.
  • Microsoft suite proficiency.
  • Six Sigma training (GE employees only).
  • Sense of urgency in dealing with issues and tasks.
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively operate in a matrix team / organization.
  • Ability to organize, assess, orchestrate, prioritize tasks, risks, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Presentation and Communication skills
