Job Title: Head of Consultancy & Extension Services

Details

• Overall operation of the Consultancy and Extension Services Department. The incumbent will be an effective advisor, communicator and educator on Extension Services, including issues of policy, and will combine knowledge of Agricultural Extension services, research, strategy and operations to advise on the practical application of research funds.

Requirements

• First degree / MSc in Agricultural Science, Agric Extension or related degree
• Minimum of 20 years practical field/industrial practical experience in Sugarcane Agriculture
• PhD in any Field of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or related field.
• PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology, genetic engineering/molecular biology, a good understanding of sugarcane genetics
• Fellow/member of relevant professional bodies
• Thorough knowledge of Agricultural technologies
• Knowledge of agronomic techniques and skills to improve productivity, food security and livelihoods desirable.
