Job Title: Chartered Accountant

Location: Lekki Peninsula, Lagos
Industry: Construction

Responsibilities

• Timely preparation, review and distribution of all monthly financial reporting packages
• Oversee the payment to contractors and suppliers when construction draws are funded.
• Review all monthly job cost reconciliations
• Oversee cash management functions for all development/construction projects. Complete all
• bank reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accounts for all projects under construction
• Ability to understand and interpret contracts with regards to construction materials/work performed
• Oversee the accounts payable function and projects in development/construction. Ensure that all subcontractors and vendors meet all requirements of contract agreement prior to any payments
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Calculate financial and operating metrics as required
• Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Overall responsibility of the financial reporting, systems and controls to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting in accordance with ASPE and other regulatory requirements
• Implementing best practice internal controls and company policies and procedures.
• Prepare internal books for outside auditors in timely fashion (annually). Ensure compliance with WSIB standards for contractors
• Act as a key contact person for the CEO/President.

Requirements

• BSc Accounting and Finance
• 5 years solid accounting experience
• Candidates who have previous experience working with a construction firm are preferred.
