We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Engineer - Welding

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Cleans and prepares parts before welding with the right PPE in use.
• Sets up and operates thermal welding equipment to weld, repair, join or fabricate parts by working with blueprints, sketches or verbal orders.
• Good knowledge of material properties and joining processes.
• Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Performs seam finishing, component fit-up, drilling and tapping and other minor machining functions.
• Assists in training less experienced employees in set-up and quality production standards.
• Assists in scheduling work load and recommends tooling needs to save time.
• Moves material with appropriate equipment throughout the work area as needed.
• Completes standard job sheets for each job.
• Attend to jobs according to operational priorities in ensuring a smooth work flow.
• Work with various departments within the company and the job dictate and engaging stakeholders on job details.
• Reports any discrepancies in material to management.
• Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
• Notifies management of any large repairs needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• HND/ND/NABTEB/City & Guids, Trade Test
• Licences/certification/ Registration
• Ability to weld in all position vertical/horizontal/flat/overhead & in confined spaces etc.
• Attend to job in a professional manner by observing the right safety procedures
• Good knowledge of Arc welding/Argon welding
• Perform related task like grinding/milling etc.
• Good measurement with dimension.
• Good with measurement/dimension
• Good knowledge of properties of materials
• Understand and can interprets blueprint/sketches/specification
• Experience 5-8 years
