The Women Arise Development and Humanitarian Initiative (WADHI) is a humanitarian not-for-profit organization committed to finding customized solutions to inequalities and social exclusion particularly, women’s continued exclusion from financial markets. It has been established to help provide appropriate platforms and management systems that support, harness and expand development opportunities that enable beneficiaries to progressively grow their entrepreneurial capacities and economic standing in the society. WADHI is the inventor of the “KOWGO” Mobile Application, an innovative tool that promotes financial inclusion for formal and informal Micro, Small and Medium-scale entrepreneurs at the bottom of the market pyramid in different sectors and value chains.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Officer

Location: Abuja

Description

  • Working under the supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, the ProgrammeOfficer will primarily be responsible for coordinating and administering WADHI’s existing grant and non-grant programmes programs as well as the workshops

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages designated aspects of grant programmes including application sourcing, administration, and processing, prepare reports and other duties as needed; ·
  • Support fund development efforts through the promotion and execution of WADHI’s annual fundraising event, proposal writing, partnerships; Develop and Coordinate new program ideas and pilot projects, including integrating successful pilots into strategic programming.
  • Serve as liaison to key government agencies, private sector partners, CSOs and donor community,
  • Represent WADHIon relevant committees and task forces, as well as at speaking engagements, conference panels and training.
  • Monitor emerging needs among key stakeholders such as WADHI associates, KOWGO networks, government, philanthropy partners and donor communities ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Organize and coordinate annual WADHI Workshops and events as well as collaboration with partner organizations;
  • Report Writing
  • Identify opportunities for new program development and expansion; ·
  • Assist with the development of strategic partnerships; ·
  • Assist with the strategic development of the organization; ·
  • Conduct research, compile data and prepare reports for consideration and presentation to the SPO; 
  • Supervise volunteers, interns and other support personnel; ·
  • Assist with ongoing publicity efforts of organization including other duties as assigned by the SPO.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Geology, Business, or Finance; Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in one of the following: community development, NGO, foundation grant management, non-profit management; gender·
  • Knowledge of relevant international human rights standards including women’s rights
  • Ability to communicate in the public environment effectively;
  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of one or two Nigerian languages will be an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Grant program management and event coordination; ·
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate various responsibilities and prioritize conflicting demands and deadlines; ·
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint; ·
  • Good writing, analytical, research and problemā€solving skills; ·
  • Experience in grant writing/fundraising; ·
  • Ability to communicate in a public environment effectively.
  • Ability to work well in a multicultural setting and digital compliant environment
  • Excellent writing skills.
