Job Description
  • Provide report and ensure completeness, validity & accuracy of the GL accounts which local finance holds ownership in line with the FCP manual.
  • Maintenance of proper record and documentation of SME investments.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Movement schedule and fixed asset register.
  • Acts as the tax remittance officer, Insurance officer and as the CBR Officer
Key Roles & Responsibilities

1.) Fixed Assets Management
  • Prepare fixed assets movement schedule agreeing to the general ledger.
  • Ensure proper treatment and classification of all fixed assets.
  • Ensure no erroneous entries are posted into the fixed assets accounts.
  • Provide documents for all additions to fixed assets.
2.) SME Investment accounting
  • Prepare SME investment movement schedule monthly.
  • Ensure proper tracking of income and repayment on SME investments.
  • Manages the SME accounts and ensure proper record keeping and filing.
3.) GL Reconciliation & Controls
  • Prepare daily Finance Suspense Reconciliation
  • Prepare daily trial balance review.
  • Preparation of PSGL Accounts proofs monthly
  • Prepare the Fixed Assets Schedule and undertake monthly reconciliation of the fixed assets register with the ledger
  • Investigate all Receivables and Payables Accounts
  • Propose correcting entries to Finance Operations as required
  • Investigate all unusual items of Suspense & Sundry Accounts
  • Escalate outstanding items that are within FCP manual thresholds
  • Process all cross border recharges and maintain proper records.
4.) Tax and Payroll Remittance
  • Remit all tax and payroll deductions to the relevant tax authority before deadline.
  • Obtain valid receipts and credit notes for the remittances.
5.) Insurance
  • Ensure adequate insurance cover for insurable Bank Asset
  • Prompt settlement of Premium due on all insurance transaction.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of a Second degree in a relevant course. Professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance e.g. ACCA, ACA plus at least five years work experience in an Accounting department of a financial institution.
  • Good Analytical/writing skills
  • Knowledge of PSGL Systems and general high level of computer literacy and understanding of business computing environment
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
