Job description Geoscientist
  • Use seismic, structural, geological, petrophysical and all available well data to create reservoir maps and 3D
  • geological models.
  • Provide stratigraphic correlations using core, log, fluid, pressure and well test data to capture dynamic and
  • static heterogeneity.
  • Execute work programmes to support identification of drilling opportunities and the preparation of well
  • proposals, maps, and volumetric estimates.
  • Generate and evaluate leads and prospects using interpretations of 2D/3D seismic, available well results and
  • offset regional data as appropriate to produce maps, volumes, and risk analyses.
  • Provide assistance to drilling activities in the form of input to well proposals and operational support.
  • Carry out detailed geophysical and geological studies in order to provide input to field development plans.
  • Mentor junior staff in latest geological techniques as necessary.
Requirements Geoscientist
  • University graduate with a high quality engineering/science/geology degree.
  • Sound technical knowledge with at least 10 years relevant experience including significant time within an
  • operating company.
  • Technically strong geoscientist with expertise in seismic interpretation, reservoir characterisation,
  • geological modeling and field development planning.
  • Experience in well design and drilling operations.
  • Experience of working effectively in multi‐disciplinary, multi‐cultural teams.
  • Effective communicator with an ability to mentor younger staff.
  • The Company is at an early stage of growth and the individual must be prepared to deal with significant
  • levels of uncertainty and changing priorities whilst remaining focused on delivering business targets in a
  • structured manner.
  • Detailed knowledge of the geology of, and/or operations within, the Niger Delta would be an advantage.

  • Dayrate salary
  • 12 to 24 months Contract
