A leading Nigerian International all-through school with a blend of the Nigerian and British National Curriculums situated on a large purpose-built campus, located in popular and fast-growing Gwarinpa, Abuja which cater for day students from crèche to 18 years with a Boarding facility for students from Year 4 is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Secondary

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Primary Purpose of the Job

• Responsible for the academic day to day management, organisation and running of the secondary section
• Lead and develop the academic ethos, culture and standards of the secondary section by ensuring that all staff uphold high expectations, high standards of professionalism, values, approaches, policies and procedures which deliver excellent outcomes for all students
• Exemplify and develop quality teaching and learning with all staff
• Drive curriculum innovation and development by working with middle leaders to secure an appropriate and engaging curriculum for all students
• To maintain the secondary section’s internal assessment system and support the Principal Head of School in data analysis
• Actively participate in all aspects of school life to create synergy, excellence and success
• Responsible for the day to day management and organisation of the secondary section, including hostel, facilities, kitchen, student affairs, co-curricular activities, PSHE, Prep and Study Hall

Qualifications and Experience

• A good first degree in a relevant field of study
• Professional teaching and administrative qualifications are essential
• A Master’s Degree in Education or a PHD in a related field is an advantage
• Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a school leadership role, preferably in an international school
• Qualified teacher status - registered with TRCN
