The University of West London invites students from Nigeria to compete for two bursaries worth £5000 each. The Nigerian Ambassador Scholarship recognises and provides financial support for outstanding Nigerian students and will be available to two Nigerian students who are starting either an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at The University of West London in September 2014. The PG Integrated masters comes with internship.

Nigerian Ambassador Scholarship Award

Description
  • The International Ambassador Scholarship recognises and provides financial support for outstanding students who wish to act as ambassadors for the University of West London.
  • For applicants applying to start in September 2014 we are offering 100 scholarships worth up to £5,000.
  • Students are eligible to apply for the scholarship if they have been offered a place to study on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of West London, commencing in September 2014.
  • International Ambassadors will be active representatives of the University. They will be expected to participate in current and future promotional activities, and as such, will be interviewed and photographed by our marketing department.
  • The scholar will also contribute from time to time in the promotion of the University of West London by supporting events organised for scholars and by the International Office.
Requirements
You will also need to provide:
  • Academic transcripts including certificate.
  • WAEC certificate with a minimum of C6 in English.
  • A personal statement explaining why you are suitable for the course.
  • Two professional and / or academic references.
  • A copy of your passport.
  • Copies of any other supporting documents.
Undergraduate Entry
Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry onto a University of West London undergraduate Bachelors degree:
  • West African Senior School Certificate plus one or more years of undergraduate studies at a reputable Nigerian university with an average CGPA of 2.50
  • National Diploma (ND) with merit (CGPA 2.50)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) with merit (CGPA 2.50)
  • Post-Higher National Diploma.
  • Second and final year entry onto a Bachelors degree may be available for those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) from the UK, with a pass profile.
Postgraduate Entry
Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry onto a postgraduate programme:
  • Bachelor degree with Honours: 50% and above, or GPA 2.40 and above
  • PhD: a proposal is required in addition to a Masters qualification in a related subject area.
  • If you do not meet any of the above qualifications please contact the International Office for advice.
Eligibility and Award Criteria:
  • Students are eligible to apply for this scholarship in any of the following academic departments: Art, Design & Media, Business, Computing & Technology, Hospitality & Tourism, Law, Music, Nursing & Midwifery and Psychology, Social Work and Human Science.
The scholarship will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Academic Merit.
  • Completed application form.
  • Short essays required in the application form.
