Job Description

  • Reporting to the Chief Application Officer (CAO), the Head Technical will be responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the technical, product, presales and project activities of the business in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the CAO.
  • You will oversee ongoing core business operations within the company. Work with the CAO in the development of enterprise/organization policies and goals that optimize financial and corporate performance and facilitate the growth of the company.
  • You will direct all existing and new custom software and application development, enterprise software application, product engineering, enterprise architecture advisory and other solutions in line with business requirements.
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing an innovative, growth-focused commercial strategy, focused primarily on new opportunities and markets while driving the acquisition of the Company’s customers, its revenue goals and the general direction and management of the business activities, including market competitiveness, product definition/pricing and distribution/diversity strategies.
  • You will be accountable for effective and efficient technical operations of the company and for managing all operational risks to reduce their negative impacts to as low as reasonably possible.
  • You will ensure that all technical operational controls are in place and working, and that the enterprise works in compliance with all related regulations.

Key Responsibilities for this Role

  • Achieve growth and hit sales and business objectives by successfully overseeing the Presales team and supporting the Sales team.
  • Design, implement and execute strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence while optimizing stakeholder interests.
  • Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the business.
  • Represents the company externally to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile and optimizes all business development opportunities.
  • Provide global best practice technology and leadership in the development and implementation of Software Application across all markets and locations.
  • Establishes the company’s technology roadmap in line with market needs and global technology trends, assist in development of the business plan and lead all aspects of its implementation.
  • Provides technical support to the sales and marketing teams in the review of new business opportunities and in the review of external contracts and purchases.
  • Oversee all technology business relationships and/or partnerships to sustain and grow the company’s business.
  • Actively manages the company’s budget and ensures effective use of the company’s resources on technology investments to grow the business.
  • Grows the capacity of the company’s technical staff to lead the technology services innovation curve while providing leadership and guidance to the Team under control while coaching and mentoring them.
  • Approve, coordinate and control all projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of major client business need.
  • Review all client integration component acquisition and maintenance contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain corporate policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of IT systems.
  • Maintain contact with IT system suppliers and maintain knowledge of current technology, equipment, prices and terms of agreements to minimize the investment required to meet established service levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support the rest of the leadership team to decide which engineering projects are the highest priorities against the business targets and which can be executed with the available resource.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the CAO.

Requirements for the Role

  • B.Sc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or other related courses or numerate disciplines.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Information Technology or related fields from a recognized University will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 12 years in an ICT Operating environment with hands on experience in software and application development, product engineering, enterprise architecture advisory, presales, product development and project delivery and at least 6 years in senior management positions.
  • Knowledge of programming languages.
  • Professional in product development and strong business acumen.
  • Certification in Product Management, Software Engineering, Sales, Business process automation, Business Development, and project management
  • Membership of professional management associations will be an added advantage
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce. Expert in Microsoft office tools
  • Familiar with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot and Omniture, and Google Analytics.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working
  • Good presentation and Public speaking skills
  • Excellent people and management skills.
