Job Title: Specialist, Retail Reporting

Job Summary

Participate in the preparation of the annual Retail Sales Business Plan, Budget & Business Processes and Performance reports.

Principal Functions
  • Collate, analyze, evaluate and report sales data (including strengths and gaps) as input into the management reporting process.
  • Prepare Monthly Expenditure Report for Retail Sales channel and ensure it is imputed into the monthly Management & Performance Report.
  • Generate weekly OPEX commitments report for the weekly review meetings.
  • Track and prepare reports on Retail Sales Channel commitments & liabilities to ensure commitments are within budget and review activities leading to over/under spend with stakeholders.
  • Assist in building and monitoring business process and financial systems across Retail Sales Channel.
  • Conduct a monthly review of sales trend and ensure understanding of trend basis and implications on Sales Plan & Forecast
  • Constantly update existing sales model and develop new ones to capture Operational and Capital Expenditure requirements such as Shop promo activities, Retail OPEX requirement, POS requirement plan, Shop capital requirement etc.
  • Generate ad-hoc sales reports for impromptu meetings as required.
  • Prepare weekly Sales report and progress updates
  • Gather adequate information and conduct commercial analysis for the development and documentation of Retail Sales Channel strategy and Sales plan
  • Monitor the process involved in the ordering of Sales stock re-order and ensure workability
  • Assist in implementing new and improved processes and procedures in Retail Sales Channel with regards to Planning & Budgeting
  • Implement an effective and efficient working process for collating and validating Revenue & Expenditure requirements from all stakeholders in the retail sales division for weekly & monthly reporting and annual budget design.
  • Interface with the Finance Department and other external/internal parties (internal audit and external consultants) on Retail Sales Channel Financial activities as relates to the role
  • Analyse the key cost drivers associated with Retail Sales Division for periodic budget forecasting & Management Decision Making
  • Prepare consolidated forecast assumptions/ quarterly forecast report
  • Review Retail Sales Opex transactions in the general ledger to ensure proper reconciliation, classifications & reversals into appropriate cost centres and account codes
  • Review all Retail Sales Channel requisition and ensure compliance with proper accounting classification, authorization, and delegation matrix and procurement requirements
  • Prepare Monthly Management and Performance Report
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements as it relates to sales reporting and data gathering.
  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Retail Operations.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Retail Operations.
Educational Requirements
  • First degree in Accounting, Economics or any or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Qualifications (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, etc.) is an added advantage.
Experience, Skills & Competencies
  • Three (3) to five (5) years relevant post NYSC work experience.
  • Sound understanding of Demand Planning & Sales Operations
  • Very strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of a fully integrated ERP systems (distribution, Fixed Assets, Accounts payable, maintenance, project Accounting, procurement)
  • Good understanding of the Telecoms industry (will be an added advantage)
