Job Title: Senior Pricing Analyst

Job Outline

Produces and secures the distribution of pricing information (electronic media and catalogs), and maintains a library of analytical programs for all lines of business. Implements pricing changes throughout the company and the customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains accurate pricing data in order management and rebates systems including account setup and data verification; tracks and monitors win/loss data such as requests for quotes.
  • Makes pricing recommendations on new product pricing and price changes; implements and reviews price adjustments; executes pricing strategy at a new product or market segment level.
  • Leads, manages, or participates in pricing improvement projects; develops outcome and pricing improvements.
  • Creates reports and analysis; presents results and conclusions to managers.
  • Provides direct and prompt assistance to customers regarding complex pricing issues through various media (phone, email, fax, letter).
  • Maintains confidential information and manages the use of this information appropriately.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement teams and implements new processes and programs.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced Pricing Analysts..
Required Skills & Experience:

  • Market Analysis - Familiar with the competitors in the market. Aware of regulatory, political, and other environmental pressures currently at work in the market(s) of interest.
  • Product Knowledge - Knowledge of products and product lines. Able to represent the features and benefits of the products in terms a customer will understand. Knowledge of how the product functions and the source of the product, whether manufactured, purchased as a finished assembly from a supplier outside of the company, or remanufactured. Knowledge of technology used in complementary and/or competing product lines and the inherent benefits/exposures.
  • Market Positioning - Understands product and market positioning tools and can apply them.
  • Pricing Strategy - Able to implement integrated pricing strategies across a common set of customers or markets. Able to implement integrated Value Based pricing strategies across a common set of customers. Understands and has familiarity with the following tools, techniques and processes: Price Setting, Pricing Policy Creation, Price and Value Communication, Price Structure creation and management, Value Creation (economic value estimation), Price Elasticity of Demand Analysis, Price Segmentation, Competitive Intelligence Analysis, Price Waterfall Management, Product Life Cycle pricing and Cummins LTA Process
  • Analytical - Fully proficient. Able to identify and interpret patterns in data to predict future opportunities. Understand NPV analysis.
  • Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Accounting or a related subject required
  • Experience
  • Required: Minimum 5 years relevant experience in similar role
  • Preferred: Six Sigma green belt certification
