The Edo State Government launched the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EdoBEST) programme in 2018, to revolutionize basic education across the state. The programme is designed to deliver on the Governor’s core belief that ‘'once you get basic education right, everything else falls in place.’

EdoBEST recognizes that a strong educational foundation will launch its children into a future of success and takes this responsibility seriously. The programme uses a holistic approach that centers on scientifically-based learning materials, a data-driven model and continuous capacity building.

Job Title: Associate, Quality Assurance

Job Description

• Quality Assurance (QA) is the auditing of our school operations (facilities, materials & supplies, personnel and processes) against our set of standards and policies to ensure all schools maintain an environment where teaching and learning thrive.
• QA ensures compliance with procedural requirements through frequent school observation visits and audits of school operations.
• Program managers use the data QA collects and audits to uphold a consistent service level standard at each school.
• Managers also use QA data to validate the data collected from other sources and used by other teams.
• We have established high standards for our many schools.
• Ensuring these standards are maintained across every single school is integral to the success of our model.

About the Role

• The Associate, Quality Assurance are the eyes and ears of the organization.
• They are part of an existing highly-trained quality monitoring team focusing on systematic academy-level monitoring.
• The Associate, Quality Assurance is driven, competitive, and always strives to win.
• The role requires someone who has a strict code of integrity. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual willing to contribute his or her skills to the team to make the Quality Assurance team even more successful.

What You Will Do

• Ensure schools are compliant with procedural requirements through processes of quality control and audit checklists of academy operations and management tools, materials and processes by:
• Paying visits to a set schools each day (as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager)
• Performing audits via the smartphone
• Reporting the information back to HQ.
• Provide valuable insights into critical operational issues based on school visit observations.
• Work with HQ to ensure that the school teaching and management systems and tools are well implemented and maintained as per Bridge standards at individual schools both by School Heads and by teachers.
• Quality Assurance Associates will travel every single day to schools and are expected to spend a fair amount of time on the road.

What You Should Have

• Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
• Hard working with a positive can-do attitude; is able and willing to take on any challenge
• Able to "stand his/her ground" and not be convinced by any School heads, teachers or anyone to change the audit information.
• Mature and independent - supervision will largely be done from HQ while you operate in the field
• Adept at using the smartphone and email programs.
• Aptitude for learning new IT systems/applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Prior experience conducting audits or experience in a quality assurance role is a plus.
• Willingness to travel every day in all weather.
• High Diploma or University graduate
