Main purpose of job
This is an interesting and varied job working with Border Force International at the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos. The focus of the job is to provide an excellent level of administrative support to Border Force and Project co-ordination/implementation of all administrative tasks in support of the Joint Border Task Force and wider British High Commission as tasked.

This role will be required to:

  • Perform administrative responsibilities for Border Force International with tasks relating to the Joint Border Task Force.
  • Coordinating and compiling all details relating to the Joint Border Task Force and deliver on the Business Plan, meeting the policy and procedural requirements of senior staff.  
  • Liaison and supplier identification, managing of budgets and the payment of invoices in line with procurement, Home Office and FCDO policy.
  • Completion and submission of detailed financial business reports throughout the year.
  •  Attendance and representation of the JBTF at meetings & conferences.

Secretariat functions (organising, minute taking, reminders/follow-ups) in support of Borer Force operational delivery.

  • Provide advanced IT / Software support to Border Force.
  • Preparation of various presentations/analyses/reviews
  • Training for use of the internet-based Integrated Business Plan platform
  • Design and Create / re-configure various reports/forms/tables for effective use across the mission.
  • Data handling and use / data entry.
  • Work on detached duty in other locations if required 

Provide back-up and leave cover for Border Force:

  • Sorting official correspondence and drafting replies.
  • Assisting with receiving, dealing with and prioritising meeting requests from both internal and external stakeholders

 Project support and wider office work:

  • Provide support to the Crisis Management Team if required.
  •  Provide support for wider High Commission.
  • Support the implementation of Programme work.
  • Takes an interest in continually developing administrative processes in their area to improve efficiency and decision making.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of procurement, managing budgets and financial management
  •  Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and work in related activity
  • Proven Leadership and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Team Player; Experience in dealing with a range internal and external stakeholder; Ability to manage upwards
  • Strong, professional skills in use of Microsoft software packages
  •  Ability to exercise sound judgement and interpretative skills

Salary
N431,507.86 / Month.
