Principal Senior Civil Engineer at a Public Service Organization

We are a Public Service Organization in Nigeria currently recruiting qualified and highly skilled candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Principal Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Nigeria
Grade: Level 12

Job Description

• The successful candidates who should be self-motivated and result-oriented will work closely with other Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers and Contractors who are responsible for designs, supervision of construction and maintenance of buildings and road projects to provide the highest level of project outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Effective Supervision of building/civil engineering projects construction
• Ensuring that the design of roads, hydraulic structures and furniture are done in conformity with relevant codes
• Resolving all contractual (foreseen and unforeseen) setback that could impact on project delivery and to ensure that project timeline is maintained
• Overseeing the quality control of materials both in Laboratory and on the Field (In- Situ Tests)
• Conducting joint site measurements with contractors and evaluating contractor’s claims for payment and preparation of payment certificates
• Documentation of all records, Site Instructions, Progress Reports including photographic progress of projects
• Preparation of Tender Documents for Projects to be awarded.
• Assisting in facilitating structured on the job training for subordinates to enhance job performance and productivity
• Any other ad hoc assignments that may be given from time to time.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / B.Eng in Civil Engineering
• M.Sc / M.Eng would be an added advantage
• Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience.
• Excellent Civil / Structural Engineer's Software Proficiency in:
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • AUTODESK AUTOCAD (Construction Documentation)
  • AUTODESK REVIT (Concept/Construction Documentation)
  • Microsoft Project (Project Management)
• Being a fully registered member of engineering professional bodies such as NSE, NIEE, COREN e.tc. would be an added advantage.

Conditions of Service

• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable as in the Public Service in Nigeria.
