News: Niger To Recruit 4000 Teachers To Boost Free Education

Niger State government is to recruit 4,000 additional teachers to boost its free education programme in the rural areas and nomadic education in the state.

The governor Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, represented by the commissioner for education, Aihaji Danladi Abdulhammeed Umar, disclosed this yesterday while declaring open a capacity building workshop for nomadic school teachers in the North Central Zone.

The governor said at the workshop organised by the National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE) in collaboration with National Teachers Institute in Minna yesterday, that the state would remain committed to education and literacy for all in the state.

He stated that the teachers posted to rural areas in the state would be given special allowances to serve as an encouragement for them to stay in the rural areas, adding that there are no fewer than 274 nomadic schools in the state.
