Details

  • The Regional Security Officer will be responsible for the smooth running of daily operations within all the bank's branches withing the region, in such a manner as to ensure the continuous provision of a professional security service that meets the requirements of the bank.

Job Description
Security:

  • Manage the smooth day-to-day running of the contract to ensure profitability. Maintain and control bank systems including, but not limited to; System Management (Emergency Operations Response Plan – Risk).

Executive Protection & Support:

  • Executive or ‘at risk’ staff may require additional security support or advice due to their role/ location. Also provide the appropriate security support, staff members or their PA’s and event organisers should contact Group, Regional or Country Security well in advance of the trip, and provide the basic information.

Discipline:

  • The Regional Security Officer is responsible and must ensure strict discipline on his sites. The Conducting of disciplinary hearings, appeals and grievances according to the Company Disciplinary Code may be required from a Regional Security Officer.

Operational Performance:

  • The Manager shall ensure that G4S Provide process and procedure for both static guards and patrols, with proper management tools and equipment in place including detailed Operating Procedures to assist in the handling of emergency incidents not limited to; building evacuation, elevator entrapment,fire, dealing with intruders, medical emergencies, natural disasters, utility interruption, theft as determined by local risk assessments.
  • Assist in simple day to day investigations and responses to security incidents that include escalating a report of such incident to security management, tracking and monitoring closure of the incident using bank tools and formats.
  • Maintain appropriate working relations with industry contacts and local law enforcement so as to be able to anticipate and respond to emerging threats that could impact the bank.
  • Program To Assess And Raise Awareness On Intermittent Security Threats: It is required that the Regional Security Officer keeps the Facility Manager informed of any security related risks and threats arising in the area of community in which the facility is located.
  • Security Systems: Effective integration and convergence of security systems, Manning and monitoring of security systems that may include Alarm monitoring, CCTV surveillance and system outages, System fault reporting and, to the extent under the control of the Supplier or Supplier Contracting Party, timely rectification; Managing the access control system and access card administration process that includes
  • Incident Identification And Reporting: All incidents discovered by security must be reported. These incidents can include, but are not limited to; Hazardous Conditions, Security Incidents, Fencing, Lighting, CCTV defects, etc.
  • Intelligence Gathering: Timeously gather, analyse and disseminate security related information from verified sources.

Person Specification: Qualification, Knowledge & Experience

  • A University Degree (Security and Intelligence Gathering will be an advantage)
  • Extensive experience in a similar role with a minimum of 2 - 5 years experience as a Security Coordinator / Contract Manager in a banking or financial institution will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Integrated Security Solutions
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communications (written and verbal) skills.

  • Have a flexible approach to the planning and restoration of business within the territory in the event of a major incident.
  • Be sensitive to internal and external repercussions of breaches of protective and information security resulting from staff misconduct.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Bank’s business.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of protective security, information security, crisis management and business continuity planning.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Write detailed and accurate reports.
  • Implement Group Security policies and standards.
  • Manage the issue, return and restriction of access cards for all staff and visitors.
  • Manage security and protection for expatriate staff on international terms entering the country.
  • Manage the access control, alarm system and camera system for the facility and ensure that the equipment is tested weekly and documented. All defects are reported and rectified.
  • Ensure that all new staff is made aware of the security procedures for the facility.
  • Ensure that all visitors to the facility are briefed on the security procedures.
  • Advise and communicate security trends and risks to staff bi-weekly.
  • Advise and communicate immediate threats to relevant stakeholders in real time.
  • Liaise with security management on a bi-weekly basis or as required.
  • Carry out or arrange for electronic counter surveillance sweeps of designated officers, open plan work areas and conference rooms at regular intervals and when sensitive meetings occur.
  • Provide information and advice to the country CEO, Business heads and Departmental Managers on security issues.

Salary
N200,000 monthly.
