Job Title: Vice Chancellor
Location: Irrua, Edo
Details
- The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Chief Academic Officer of the University and shall provide necessary academic, administrative, and Institutional leadership for the advancement of the University’s mission, vision, and strategies.
- S / he is responsible to the Council for the day-to-day management of the human, financial and material resources of the University.
Responsibilities
- Drive the University’s vision, mission, and strategies.
- Provide necessary academic, administrative, and Institutional leadership for the advancement of the University’s mission, vision, and strategies.
- Day-to-day management of the human, financial and material resources of the University.
- Develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University command respect and engender cooperation and loyalty of staff and students at the University.
Qualifications
The Vice Chancellor shall hold office for one term of Five (5) years. The person seeking employment as the Vice Chancellor shall be required under the University’s terms and conditions of employment to possess the following qualifications and competencies shown below:
- A Doctorate (PhD) Degree, in addition to a good first degree in one of the disciplines offered by Mudiame University; not lower than second class upper, from a reputable University.
- A professorial qualification of not less than 10 years in one of the disciplines offered by Mudiame University.
- A professor with an extensive academic, teaching, and managerial experience
- An outstanding scholar of national and international repute with verifiable record of quality research, extensive publications, and contribution to knowledge
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Information Management Systems
- Proficiency in implementing Quality Management Systems is desirable
- She/He must have good physical and mental health.
- The Vice Chancellor must not be older than 60 years at the date of assumption of duty.
Competencies Required:
- Have the capacity to drive the University’s vision, mission, and strategies.
- Be a person of proven personal and professional integrity, possess high moral character, an excellent manager of human resources, and a team player.
- Be a person with proven leadership qualities and great inter-personal skills.
- Be a person who can instill confidence in others as well as command loyalty and respect of people.
- Understand the complexity of a university system and be capable of harnessing the potentials of subordinates to attain the overall goals of the University.
- Have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University command respect and engender cooperation and loyalty of staff and students at the University.
- A candidate with experience in driving an effective e-learning system will have an added advantage.
