Background:
  • To strengthen Oracle's position as a market leader in the Retail Supply Chain market, we are looking for expert level Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation Presales Consultants. In this role, you will focus on formulating and leading presales functional and technical activities to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role is a key role in driving the success of Oracle Retail business across EMEA and India.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Being an acknowledged expert in his/her area(s) of Retail Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation with ability to present industry trends and best practices as well as the most advanced product features and associated benefits to customers
  • Understanding of the sales process and ability to lead all functional and technical aspects as a solution expert
  • Ability to convince others often at a senior level through presentations, demonstrations and written communication by translating our customer´s business needs into Oracle solutions
  • Exhibiting excellent verbal and written communication skills in responding to RFIs, RFPs, needs analysis, positioning, etc.
  • Articulating how Oracle Retail solutions fit into the wider Oracle offering for Retailers
  • Displaying the ability to communicate Oracle's values proposition and deliver outstanding product presentations and demonstrations to prospects, customers, partners and the market
  • Presenting and demonstrating Oracle solutions to customers, partners at meetings seminars and events
  • Demonstrating ability to solve difficult problems with accounts, in complex sales environments
  • Developing and managing reference sites through high quality professional client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor for prospects and customers and developing new opportunities in the customer base
  • Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities requiring creative and complex solutions
  • Having in depth knowledge of competitors
  • Demonstrating strong team spirit, willing to work in - often virtual - teams

Candidate Profile - Essential
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 3 + years experience working with supply chain planning and merchandising organisations of major retailers or consumer products good manufacturer (CPG)
  • 3 + years experience working with Retailer or CPG technology solutions in the supply chain planning and optimisation arena in either pre-sales or business consulting
  • Experience working with Supply Chain and planning products and solutions
  • Experience positioning solutions with customers
  • Experience interpreting client requirements and mapping technology solutions to the requirements
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, and professionalism
  • Experience with requirements definition and/or business process definition.
  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience presenting to senior and c-level retail / CPG executives
  • Proven teamworker

Candidate Profile - Advantageous
  • Experience with Oracle Retail Supply Chain, Planning and Optimisation Products - including RPAS Platform, RO,RDF,MFP,CM, AP,IP, AIP, RPO or similar solutions from other software vendors.
  • Hands on experience with planning and supply chain solutions in a retail business
  • RPAS or competitive configuration experience
  • Understanding of technical concepts associated with application software.
  • Additional languages ideally with business context.

  • Responsible for driving Oracle's Cloud Computing business across EMEA with commercial and public sector customers; help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Oracle's Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings such as Compute, Storage, Java as a Service, and Database as a Service; engage with senior business/IT customer stakeholders, partners, and Oracle sales and consulting teams; developing a customer's Cloud Computing architecture vision, future state architectures, and implementable architecture roadmaps in the context of the public, private, and hybrid cloud computing solutions Oracle can offer; develop public/private cloud integration strategies; help to align a customer's business strategy and objectives with an enabling Oracle based IaaS and PaaS solution.

  • As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants.
  • Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions.
  • Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants.
  • Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations.
  • Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process.
  • Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Job Requirements
  • Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
  • Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
  • 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience.
  • 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools.
  • Ability to implement the most advanced product features.
  • Thorough knowledge of system and application design.
  • In depth knowledge of competitors.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques.
