Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

Job Description

  • Collaborate with Senior Executives to establish and execute a sales goal for the region
  • Manage a sales team in order to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed corporate-set goals
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals
  • Achieve Regional Sales Operational objectives by contributing Regional Sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends; determine regional/zonal sales system improvements; implement change.
  • Meet Regional Sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for the zone in support of national objectives.
  • Maintain and expand customer base by counseling sales team; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Implement trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Accomplish sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Responsible for both primary and secondary sales while working with channel and National Sales Managers
  • Responsible for achieving revenue growth both in sales and in sales to trade by effectively managing the sales organization of the distributors; ensuring expanding reach and effective buying
  • Map out potential expansion opportunities with current distributors and potential future distributors
  • Maximize customer visit by offering and determining sales opportunities
  • Drive highest levels of customer satisfaction, understand challenges that are critical to customers and take a solution-based approach
  • Occasional travel to team meetings, events or industry conferences.
  • Effective Stock management by way of right indenting and timely liquidation of near expiry stock at their respective MDS or Warehouse locations.
  • Ensure and implement roles and responsibilities of the sales team as per defined norms
  • Accomplish Regional Sales Human Resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned regions while working closely with the Human Resources Manager; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Preferred candidate should be resident in Aba, Abia State.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience working in an FMCG sales environment
  • Understanding of strategic sales process and the steps necessary to drive sales results
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects for sales process or program implementation from concept to completion
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication (oral and written)
  • Leadership qualities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team where open, collaborative communication is expected
  • Exhibits personal traits of curiosity, modesty, achievement orientation, and conscientiousness
  • Team player that is creative, process oriented, and committed
  • Knowledge and use of Basic MS Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
