An Indigenous Company with Head Office located in Lagos State, is seeking to hire qualified, self-motivated, innovative and hardworking professionals willing to work anywhere within Nigeria to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head Grower, Green House

Location: Any City, Nigeria

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the growth of operations, including developing a detailed plan and timeline for plant production from seed / clone to harvest.
  • Initiate and manage harvest schedules to consistently meet the demands of the business.
  • Identify and treat infestation, toxicity and deficiency issues in grows
  • Provide stewardship, fiscal responsibility, maintain associated equipment. and ensure safe practices are followed, and be responsible for pesticide applications and associated maintenance.
  • Position and regulate plant irrigation systems and program environmental and irrigation control computers.
  • Responsible for making or overseeing a coordinated IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program in the facilities.
  • Determine types and quantities of horticultural plants to be grown, based on budgets, projected sales volumes, or executive directives.
  • Explain and enforce safety regulations and policies in green house
  • Select and purchase seeds, plant nutrients, dis ease control chemicals, and garden and lawn care equipment.
  • Complete regularly scheduled quality assessment of plants for signs of pests/disease
  • Determine plant growing conditions, such as greenhouses, hydroponics, or natural settings, and set planting and care schedules.

Qualifications / Experiences

  • B.Sc in Agriculture, Agronomy or related field with at least 5 years cognate post qualification experience in agronomy, plantation and green house management.
