Job Title: Product Designer

Location: Lagos

Job Details

• Our client, a top-tier (1) Commercial Bank, requires the service of a highly skilled product designer with Fin-Tech experience to partner with cross-functional teams and turning insights into delightful products in a creative environment that requires proven leadership skills and the ability to execute a creative vision.
• The successful candidate will define product specifications, create digital or print drawings and design fully functional products.
• This individual will also build products that are easy to use and visually appealing to our potential customers

Key Responsibilities

• Set design requirements based on information from internal or external teams and user research
• Illustrate and communicate complex design solutions across uses cases by creating process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity mock-ups
• Watch consumer trends to identify desirable product traits
• Consider comfort and usability when designing new products
• Use data collected from research, user testing, and market analysis to create truly user-centric designs
• Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership
• Use a variety of metrics to analyze and continuously improve the user experience
• Modify products in accordance with feedback from users and test groups
• Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions
• Coordinate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication
• Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences
• Work closely with product engineers to suggest improvements for products and processes
• Perform other duties as assigned by Technical Delivery Lead

Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline
• 3 - 5 years experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, Java, C++, C#)
• Up to 3 years of professional programming experience using Microsoft stack
• Relevant professional certification

Skills / Competencies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
• A well-rounded portfolio of client work, demonstrating a strong understanding of client objectives
• Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
• Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
• Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
• Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
