Our client is looking for a talented Head of Finance & Administration to lead a dynamic team into the next phase of success for the business.

Job Description:
  • Reporting to the executive director, the Head of Finance and Administration will implement the investment, accounting and administrative systems needed to support the company’s strategic objectives. Working with the senior management team, this individual will help shape a sustainable future for the organization and will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives. S/he will be responsible for the oversight of administrative and financial systems including investments, finance, accounting, information technology, human resources, and physical infrastructure.
  • The Head of Finance and Administration will act as the primary liaison to the finance and audit and personnel committees, working closely with committee members to strengthen the company’s financial position, internal controls, human resources and other items as required. S/he will continually evaluate best industry practices in comparison to internal systems and needed resources, with an eye toward both future needs and budget realities.
  • This executive will have direct management responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Audit, Finance and Budgeting
  • The Head of Finance and Administration will have overall financial management responsibility including the development, review and approval of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the senior management team and board of directors. S/he will be staff lead on the management of the Fund’s endowment and other investments which includes seamless collaboration with investment advisors and managers. S/he will oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow and coordination of audit activities as well as accounts payable and receivable.
  • The ideal candidate will not only be able to reconcile financial activities but should also be skilled at capturing and communicating key data and processes in order to demonstrate the relationship between the Fund’s operations and resulting impacts.
Administration and Operations
  • The executive will also have lead responsibility for the organization's administrative and operational processes, with a goal of continuously developing and improving systems. These processes include contract administration, record keeping, purchasing and lease management, policy and procedures for fiscal and administrative operations, and grant payment processing. S/he must evaluate and improve information technology infrastructure, implementing new technologies to support key capabilities as required, and to support and drive key human resource operations.
  • In addition, s/he will have overall responsibility for the human resource operations. This will include payroll, benefits administration, periodic compensation reviews, and other duties as assigned. The Executive will also work with the senior management team to ensure that the focus remains on the company’s mission while maintaining the firm’s entrepreneurial and opportunistic culture.
Qualifications
  • The Head of Finance and Administration will have had a successful career in audit, administration and accounting functions, with at least 7 years managing the finance and administration functions of a major manufacturing company.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience running operations in effective FMC organizations that have and manage a diversified brand. The Executive must excel in a team environment—managing a team, as a member of the leadership team and working directly with a board of directors.
Other qualifications include:
  • Demonstrated experience in, financial management and accounting
  • Experience with audit, legal compliance, and budget development
  • Organization development, human resources management experience
  • Proven effectiveness managing others, empowering them to make decisions
  • Technological acumen, with experience overseeing information technology staff and vendors
  • Experience effectively communicating key data to senior management, the board of directors or other outside partners/influencers/advisors
  • Success seeing beyond the numbers, identifying trends and new possibilities
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree and/or ACA/ CIPM is strongly preferred
