Since 1971, Family Health International (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with national governments, local communities and leading research institutions, FHI delivers services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS, other infectious diseases and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world's most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, reproductive health, malaria, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria.

To strengthen our operations in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (NHMIS)

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (NHMIS)
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer National Health Management Information System (NHMIS), under the supervision of the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (NHMIS), will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities for HIV/AIDS, STI and TB control activities and strengthening HMIS at the LGA and state levels.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the implementation of M&E activities for the LGA HAST model of HIV/AIDS, STI, TB care, and malaria activities at the LGA and state levels Strengthen the implementation of NHMIS at the LGA and state levels
•Provide technical assistance and training to the state and LGA staff on the use of DHIS software and the integration of health data into the national HMIS
•Develop the capacity of LGA and facility staff in monitoring and evaluation, including the proper use of data collection tools, data analysis, and data use to inform decision making.
•On a monthly basis, review and analyze LGA level data and provide feedback to zonal office and LGA counterparts
•Contribute to the design and technical development for strengthening health management information system initiatives as well as workload analysis at state and LGA levels
•Provide related capacity building support at the state, LGA and facility levels
•Work directly with the implementing partners (community-based organizations), LGA PHC coordinators, LGA TB supervisors, LACA coordinators and PHC personnel to facilitate the implementation of high quality M&E system for HIV/AIDS, STI, TB care, malaria and system strengthening activities within the LGA
•Assist in developing capacity for computerized data entry of routine data and provide technical assistance and training to the state and LGA staff responsible for data entry and management
•Provide technical assistance to the states and LGA in integrating data into the national HMIS

Minimum Requirements:

MPH, MD or similar degree in monitoring and evaluation, medicine, pharmacy or related field
A bachelor's degree will be considered with 5 years additional experience
•A minimum of 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation in reproductive health or HIV/AIDS/STIITB programs in developing countries
•Experience working with local partners, including NGOs and CBOs and knowledge of the local context is essential
•Familiarity with USAID and Global Fund programs is preferred.
