Job Description:

Suburban Systems is inviting external applications from qualified persons to fill the positions of Technicians in the following locations:
  • Kaduna/Zaria
  • Bauchi/Gombe
  • Maiduguri/Damaturu
  • Yola
  • Illorin
  • Enugu/Aba/Owerri
Responsibilities
Under supervision from a Network Engineer, he will be responsible for:
  • Trouble shooting networks using test equipment such as OTDR, SDH analyzers.
  • Trouble shooting basic IP related issues such as laptop to laptop PING tests.
  • Installation of telecommunications radios and equipment with support from a rigger
  • LAN installation, termination and testing using
  • Supervising contractors for cable pulling, trenching and civil works
  • Optical fibre Installation, maintenance and testing.
  • Quality control of all indoor and outdoor installations (ODF, Media converters, CPEs) at all Suburban PoPs and customer premises. Should be able to carry out
  • E1 termination with the use of punch and crimping tools.
  • Carrying out radio and fibre surveys
  • Work with the Network Engineers to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve network faults and performance issues

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of a National Diploma, preferably in a technical subject such as Electrical / Electronics
  • Telecommunications Engineering or any numerate discipline.
  • 1-2 years experience in Telecoms Industry
  • Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite 2007.
