Responsibilities
Market/competitor benchmarking:
- Codify brands, product ranges, and prices of products in the category that are carried by key competitors.
- Make recommendations on standard / widely used products to be stocked in the category.
Product selection:
- Determine the ideal product set that the category needs to customer needs and address the competitive challenges.
- Progressively grow sales and range of products in priority sub-categories until the ideal product assortment is reached.
- Retire products that are not meeting customer needs to ensure the proposed product set consistently fits within available shelf space.
Pricing and category margins:
- Propose/ set prices for products in the category. Calculate monthly the gross margin for the category and work towards achieving the target margin.
Merchandising/planogram planning:
- Create an ideal visual merchandising plan/standard for the category. Adjust the visual merchandising plan to peculiarities of each branch and train subordinates on how to deliver the plan.
Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
- 2 - 5 years of work experience.
