Our client in the shipping industry requires the services of a Reach Stacker Driver in Kano. Candidates with the requirements below should apply and upload CV/resume.
We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Position: Reach Stacker Driver
Location: Kano
Requirements
- Minimum two years experience in an industrial environment.
- Requires at least two years of equipment handling or similar work experience in a commercial port environment.
- Must also have at least two years experience of driving heavy road vehicles prior to this.
- Must have complete understanding of operating various yard handling equipment.
- Must have a good understanding of container terminal operations, including yard movements and other yard handling equipment.
- Must have licenses to operate all types of yard handling equipment, including tractor, reach stacker, RTG, mobile crane, forklift, etc.
- Must have a heavy duty driver's license, issued by the local authority.
- Demonstrates ability to operate at minimum specified average crane productivity moves per hour.
- Requires basic English language skills (numbers, radio and communication instructions).
- Physically fit and able to pass full medical examination.
- No fear of heights & must have a sense of depth and distance perception.
- No colour blindness, good eyesight and hand eye coordination.
- Has knowledge of different types of YHE and their characteristics.
- Has knowledge of different types of container movement chassis and their characteristics.
- Has knowledge of different types of containers and their characteristics.
- Has knowledge of different types of hoisting equipment and their characteristics.
- Understands safety regulations, safe working procedures and safe materials handling procedures and follows safety and work instructions.
- Has the ability to communicate operational instructions and information via two way radio system.
- Understands common used hand signals to communicate without radio system.
- Understands alpha numeric instruction messages displayed on Radio Data Screen.
