Le Treda - Our client is a top diagnostic centre in Nigeria that provides world-class medical investigations. Their service offerings include medical laboratory, ultrasound and endoscopy services. They provide a broad menu of over 3200 routine and specialized laboratory tests that help predict, diagnose, and monitor diseases.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Laboratory Quality Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership:

  • Be a proactive leader and identify opportunities and propose improvements, efficiencies and operational modification as it relates to the laboratory.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities, anticipates problems and provides timely and appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to liaise with other operational areas.

KPI: 

  • Responsible for all activities related to leading and coordinating the resources of the organization to achieving reliable outcomes always.

SOP Management:

  • Responsible for scientific oversight of the laboratory including writing, review and updates of all SOP's in the Laboratory

KPI: 

  • Ensuring all members of the team are conversant with the implementation of the SOP’s and use them every time.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Resolve all technical problems with the aid of a technology and equipment contract company.
  • Keep the maintenance, incidence and occurrence logs whenever any remedial action is taken on any machine or equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment have service contracts and such contracts are up to date.
  • Keep the maintenance schedule for all equipment in the Lab

KPI: 

  • Ensure all machines are up and running at all times to ensure reliable outcomes at all times

Compliance:

  • Identify and understand regulatory requirements to ensure the laboratory is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertinent to the management of the laboratory and regulations for states in which the lab is licensed.
  • Maintains a state of readiness for inspections at all times, through regular periodic meetings with all department managers and supervisors, self-inspection checklists and proactive observation.
  • Supports, implements, and ensures compliance with all departmental and company policies and procedures including but not limited to Quality, Compliance with all regulatory entities and Safety

KPI: 

  • Responsible for ensuring internal and external processes undertaken by the laboratory meets statutory compliance at all times.

Quality Plan:

  • Collaborates with the Medical Director of the Laboratory to create, optimize and enforce the Quality Plan as it is written.
  • Is expected to work with all Managers, Supervisors and Employees on meeting the standards in the Quality Plan.
  • Validating and implementing new methods and technologies.

KPI: 

  • Responsible for drawing up, updating and implementing the requirements of the laboratory’s quality plan.
  • Responsible for the implementation of regular QC, QA and EQA processes

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Verify the test procedures performed and establish the laboratory’s test performance characteristics, including precision and accuracy of each test and test system
  • Serves as the bridge and last line checks for entered results across departments before handover
  • Ensure that the quality management program is maintained by following parameters for acceptable performance for the preanalytical, analytical and post-analytical testing processes
  • Resolve all technical problems with the aid of the technical staff and ensures that remedial action is taken whenever a test deviates from the laboratory’s performance standards
  • Ensure that all patient results are not reported until corrective actions have been taken and the systems are functioning properly
  • Identify training needs and ensures all training is performed as required

KPI: 

  • Responsible for ensuring that +1 to +6 and effected completely, regularly and appropriately at all times.

Inventory Management:

  • Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures.
  • Examine and ensure the quality and levels of supplies to determine shortages.
  • Document deliveries in and out to update inventory.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
  • Perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems.
  • Order new supplies to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.

KPI: 

  • Ensure that the lab has all it needs to function optimally at every point in time with no reasons for failure.

Requirments

  • Must be a Laboratory Scientist with a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Must have worked for a minimum of 3 years in the Quality Department of a medical laboratory.

Salary

  • N180,000 - N200,000 monthly.
  • The compensation package offered will be commensurate with educational qualification, work experience and industry standards.
