We are a Nigerian Forensic Services company, engaged in forensics consultancy. Our major priorities include the provision of forensic capabilities and solutions by way of capacity building and advocacy for mainstreaming forensics as a critical tool in the conduct of criminal investigations, intelligence gathering and promotion of state security. Our specific service offerings include the design and development of forensic laboratories, training of personnel in specialized forensic techniques, procurement, distribution, installation of specialized forensic equipment, and casework.

Job Description
As an Assistant Forensic Specialist, you would be required to apply your digital forensic expertise, training and experience into achieving set goals and objectives. You would be expected to:

  • Take ownership of forensic programmes assigned to you by your line manager from (C to C) concept to completion
  • Design, develop and deliver specialist forensic courses to be delivered at basic, intermediate and advanced levels
  • Attend to Crime Scenes/ Scenes of Incidents and apply standard operating procedures to ensure proper scene management during the conduct of investigations involving digital devices.
  • Identify and develop training and capacity building needs in the field of digital forensics investigations and analysis for clientele (public and private sector).
  • Manage forensics training and capacity building projects from concept to completion (includes budgetary preparation, forensic specialist equipment sourcing, installation, operation and maintenance as well as clientele staff training).
  • Facilitating smooth work interaction and information flow among stakeholders (clients, colleagues, experts, and external collaborators).
  • Coordinate, control and supervise project execution; ensuring that project is completed within timeframe, scope and budget.
  • Performs project documentation - report writing and editing of completed projects.
  • Review andor preparation of training graphics and presentations.
  • Conducts background research for current and proposed projects including proposal writing, concept notes and budgetary allocation.
  • Travel to multiple locations across Nigeria/abroad to support forensic capacity building initiatives and case work as the need arises.
  • Submit a weekly progress report of your activities.
  • All other related tasks as assigned to you by your line manager.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Forensics / closely related scientific field or a First Degree in a Life / Applied science with 7 years professional experience.
  • An MBA is an added advantage.

Skills:

  • Personnel in this position are expected to possess excellent oral and written command of the English language. This role requires a good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Power point, word, excel access). Great interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills are a requirement.

Other Considerations:

  • You are expected to have thorough knowledge of the National Cybersecurity policy and strategy.
  • If you are offered this position it would remain unconfirmed for a period of 3 month from your start date. After which your performance would be evaluated and if satisfactory you would be position would be confirmed.
  • Upon satisfactory completion of your probation period (typically 6 months), you would be promoted to step 3 - Forensic Specialist (FS) with a higher pay band, health insurance and pension plan.
  • Further advancement through to Senior Forensic Manager (SFM) is based on experience, further specialization (PhD) and sterling appraisal (exceptional performance).

You are Expected to Have Thorough Knowledge of:

  • The National Cybersecurity policy and strategy, Independent Lawful Intercept (Voice and Data), Thuraya Interception Solutions, WhatsApp Interception Solutions, Tactical Mobile Geolocation Platforms, Modern Cybersecurity Infrastructure, Considerations in setting up a Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics Laboratory.
