Pro-Health International is a faith-based, non- profit organization that has provided free health care services to under-served populations in Nigeria for over 30 years.CDC and USAID have funded PHI to implement HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care projects, OVC projects and Global Health security projects. The 4GATES Project under whcih this position will serve is a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment project.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Pharmacy and Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The incumbent will provide technical assistance to the 4GATES project on pharmaceutical and supply chain management services. Driving the projects’ goal of maintaining adequate and efficient supply of commodities and antiretroviral medicines to people living with HIV.
  • Provide oversight to the development and execution of pharmacy services short and long-term goals as they relate to the PharmacyandSupply ChainManagement.
  • Effectively and continually maintain open lines of communication with management, staff, and customers to facilitate the flow of relevant information. Provide timely and accurate communication, both written and verbal as appropriate, regarding supply chain changes
  • Will monitor and ensure effective Inventory Management System at the Health Facilities (HFs) for completeness and accuracy of all transactions towards efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure accountability of the commodities issued to the HFs by carrying out stock verification and reconciliation of records where necessary
  • Will coordinate and provide commodities management support and logistics technical assistance
  • Implementation of relevant policies and procedures to quantification, procurement, warehousing and overall inventory management of commodities in supported facilities
  • Provides training and mentoring support to health care workers at the facility both on supply chain management and pharmaceutical care of patients.
  • Driving and supporting the strengthening of supply chain management protocols of decentralized drug delivery (DDD) with the aim of sustaining patients’(PLHIV) retention at the community level.

Other deliverable may include:

  • Coordinating other professionals on the 4GATES project towards attaining short term targets bordering on Patients Viral Load Monitoring (VLM), Patients’ Biometric Capturing System (PBS) as well as Patients’ Interrupted in treatment (IIT) in relation to commodity (ARVs) pick up at supported facilities and communities.

Qualification / Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D required.
  • Minimum of 4 years cognate experience in supply chain management
  • 5 Years’ experience in HIV/AIDS M & E intervention programs
  • Must have experience managing government level stakeholders
  • Must have excellent report writing skills
  • Must be organized and have good management and communication skills
  • Competent in the use of Logistic Management Information Systems (LMIS) tools in supply chain management
  • Be flexible, have the ability to work well under pressure
  • Be able to give feedback to partners within and outside the organization about the use of the resources and the results acquired
  • Have the ability to work under tight schedules, multitask and work in teams in order to meet project goals
  • Be highly proficient in the use of relevant computer applications including excel, power point and word
