Job Description
- In summary, this position is to provide construction engineering support to shop floor staff and act as an interface between the different yard departments and disciplines.
Reporting to the Head of Production Engineering, the responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:
- To provide engineering support required for fabrication of offshore structures on the fabrication yard.
- To coordinate between the different engineering disciplines, structural, piping, mechanical E&I.
- To coordinate requisition and issue of construction materials in a timely manner.
- Preparation of site instructions to record changes and variations.
- Recording and reporting of weekly fabrication process.
- Resolution of day to day engineering problems encountered on site. if an onsite resolution cannot be agreed, raising of technical queries to agree a solution.
- To monitor and coordinate subcontract works carried out either on or off site.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- A university degree in a recognized engineering discipline.
- Membership of professional bodies such as NSE (Nigeria), ICE (UK) and ASCE (USA) is desirable but not necessary.
- Experience in working with general engineering codes and standards with emphasis on oil and gas industry practices.
- Have a good working knowledge of the design of offshore and onshore oil production facilities.
- Have a sound understanding of offshore construction practices preferably in more than one discipline.
- Sound understanding of HSES management systems;
- Proven qualified Fluent in English.
