Shaldag Limited commenced as a greenfield aquaculture company in 2014 to produce high quality fish products for consumption in Nigeria. Shaldag produces African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) from its 2,500MT per annum capacity farm in Epe, Lagos and recently forward integrated into the production of packaged and branded processed fish products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Epe, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The ideal candidate will own the entire production process.
  • They will oversee the day-today operation of the Processing Plant including scheduling, determining labour requirements, material selection, logistics arrangements, production reporting, coordination and supervision of the plant personnel whilst adhering to the highest quality standards and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evaluate entire production process
  • Contribute to production planning and budgeting
  • Lead and monitor quality assessments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a safe production environment
  • Provide solutions and guidance needed in the Unit to drive employee safety, food safety, quality, and overall performance throughout while maintaining overall plant efficiency.
  • Responsible for selecting, hiring, training and assigning supervisory and production personnel.
  • Manage materials, packaging and raw materials such that all materials are available to meet scheduling requirements on a timely basis by working closely with the Procurement team.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product, process, or quality system and recommend or provide solutions to correct deficiencies.

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Food Technology or other closely related courses
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of HSE, HACCP & NAFDAC policies and procedures.
  • Plant/Factory Management experience in food manufacturing (strongly preferred).
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, work orders, inventory control, and factory floor control
  • Understand the concept of quality control & data/records management.
