Job Title: Breeding Database Programmer and Manager

Location: Ibadan, NG
Job Description
The successful candidate’s major tasks will include:
- Code and database development (in collaboration with BTI).
- Database administrator managing day-to-day operations.
- Training of users which will involve regular traveling in Africa.
Minimum Qualification, Experience and Skills
- The candidate should have a Masters degree in plant breeding and extensive experience in crop database development.
Skills & Abilities
Core Competencies:
- Programming in Java, SQL, and PERL.
- Knowledge of web-development and a good working knowledge of Linux, and web servers are desired.
- Working knowledge of statistics and quantitative genetics linkage analysis is an added advantage.
- At least five years experience in large multi-user database development with inclination to crop improvement.
- Knowledge of hardware maintenance and operations.
Terms & Conditions:
- Initial appointment is for three years. IITA offers a competitive remuneration package paid in US dollars.
