Job Description

• The Maintenance Manager will direct and supervise the maintenance and repair of all heavy-duty trucks and smaller vehicles owned and operated by the company.
• Supervise the totalfleetmaintenance and repairprocesses.
• Assist in the selection and assignment of vehicle maintenance personnel.
• AssistManagementin bid preparation for parts and supplies.
• AdviseManagementon the acquisition of needed facilities, equipment and tools necessary for the proper maintenance ofthe fleet.
• Assistindetermining vehicle replacement.
• Plan, organize and coordinate the day-to-day running of the workshop. E.g. Writing work orders (Job sheet) and arranging mechanic to perform maintenance and repair work on vehicles.
• Remains abreast of trends and technical changes as they develop in the automotive industry.
• Stay abreast of current parts and supply prices, availability and an awareness of economical purchasing.
• Work withthe Fleet Managementto see that good vehicle maintenance records are kept and vehicles are maintained in safe operation condition.
• Plan and schedule training sessions to keep mechanics informed and trained infleet repairsand other support vehicles and equipment.
• Schedule and perform required monthlyfleet inspectionsand submit required reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned byManagement
• Maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

• HND / B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Commercial Vehicles).
• Minimum of 10 years strong Engineering experience with an established Commercial Vehicle Workshop (Trucks specifically).
• Perfect knowledge of Auto Trucks.
• Good mechanical skills and leadership/operations skills.
• Good team player with good social and communicationability both verbally and in writing
• Proven track record,Problem solving skill and team spirit.
• Product knowledge & skills to handle technical problems, warranty issues.
• Ability to guide & train others.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Package
• Valid driver’s license
• Candidate with knowledge of various tools, equipment and procedures in workshops for troubleshooting and repairing vehicles will have an added advantage.
