The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position of:

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Nigeria

Job Description
  • Carry out data gathering in accordance with agreed-on procedures and standards, data collection training and facilitation, scheduling, sampling, routine quality control and checking of own and others' work.
  • Carry out M&E activities related to the work of the funded partners in the area including all funding sources used for Humidtropics mainly related to R4D and innovation platforms, and with emphasis on the area based cluster 4 grant activities that are part of the RBMS Pilot project.
  • Ensure considerable extraction and computer entry of data from field reports, some analysis, and frequent traveling in the region.
  • Ensure that primary stakeholders are involved to the fullest extent possible in undertaking RBM&E.
  • Supervise the work of the Action Site/Field Site facilitators in the implementation of activities at Action Site/Field Site level.
Minimum Qualification, Experience and Skills
  • B.Sc/HND in Business Administration, Economics or Development Management and Planning from a reputable university.
  • An advanced degree, especially in the Sciences (natural or social: e.g., agriculture, environment, ecology, biology, geography, sociology, anthropology) is preferable.
Skills & Abilities:
  • At least 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation, data processing or analysis, and advanced computer based data management and analysis.
  • Ability to organise and train enumerators.
  • Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, organisational relationships, social and cultural constraints and realities, and environmental conditions.
  • Advanced computer skills, preferably with knowledge of database development (Filemaker) and statistical software (GNU R preferred).
  • Sound mathematics and good English and French skills.
