Job Title: Customer Care Agent - Maersk Line


Location:  Lagos, Nigeria

Profile Overview
  • The individual will be required to exercise top-notch relational skills alongside analytical capabilities and job knowledge in the execution of tasks. In addition the person will be expected to be versatile and a self developer.

  • This role will also add great leverage to the promotion and sustenance of our transition to online transactions as well as proactive relationship management.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The CARE Agent will primarily be responsible for below activities:
  • Account ownership of customers allotted to the agent.
  • Customer shipments are proactively monitored during transit and all issues resolved well ahead of final discharge
  • Ensure allotted Customers are adequately informed at all stages of shipment.
  • Assist with campaigns and awareness drives to customers
  • Model market intelligence as well as gather relevant data on competition products.
  • Interact with external stakeholders – authorities, agency associations, shipping institutions etc
  • Frequent Customer visits / relationship management
  • Ensure Customer issues are resolved within agreed service levels
  • Be knowledgeable about Maersk Line products and services and suggest alternatives to Customers when Customers’ demands cannot be met exactly as specified by them.
  • Be aware of regulatory requirements and act within the framework that exposes the company to minimum risk at all time.
  • Supports the Sales team to ensure customer retention and full delivery of the service and product sold.

Internal:
  • Functional/business management, colleagues, Regional Operations and commercial desks, Global Service Centres, other AP Moller container business entities.
External:
  • Customers (shippers, consignee, clearing agents), bank, authorities, clearing agents associations, maritime institutions

Skills & Specifications
  • Degree in any discipline
  • 2-5 years post NYSC work experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain customer-centric attitude under pressure
  • Ability to suggest and adapt to continuous change and improvement
  • Proficiency and hands on experience with Microsoft excel, word and power point
  • Ability to train or coach colleagues in the use of Microsoft excel, word and power point
  • Presentation skills (able to highlight challenges and possibilities to stakeholders proactively
  • Innovativeness (Ability to proffer solutions to Customers issues with minimal escalation)
