MyCareerlity Talent Solutions - Our client, an E-Commerce company in Lagos, Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Lagos

Summary

• The junior accountant will assist the finance manager to maintain and compile financial reports and statements in compliance with government regulations and requirements.
• The junior accountant will assist with analyzing balance sheets, managing general ledger accounts, updating financial statements, maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable, etc.

Responsibilities

• Processing payments and invoices accurately.
• Prepare and present to Finance Manager daily report of financial activities.
• Performing reconciliation of accounts.
• Preparing VAT returns.
• Preparing monthly WHT schedule for remittance.
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
• Assist finance manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
• Deliver on other accounting tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• B.Sc in Accounting or any finance related course.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a junior accountant, auditor or finance officer.
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP).
• Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or ICAN) is a plus.
• Flexible.

Salary
N70,000 - N80,000 monthly (Net).
