We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Assistant Manager - Strategy and Business Development

Location: Lagos (Office Based)
Employment Type: Full Time
Department: Director's Office
Reports to: Managing Director
Travel: 0% - 30%
Internally Relates with: Sales, Marketing, Production, Supply Chain, Finance
Externally Relates with: Other TGI Business Units

Objective / Purpose of Job

  • To analyse finance reports and Information, industry developments, competition activity and coordinating stakeholder engagements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to developing the strategy and portfolio roadmap, providing insight and external benchmarks and trends.
  • Support finance related engagements (financial modelling, accounts compilation etc.) for the business.
  • Research and analyze current and future trends and provide relevant economic and financial/business related information.
  • Support the director by gathering information, coordinating and communicating with Business units in managing the annual business planning exercise
  • Liaise with stakeholders’/key functions and work collaboratively to achieve overall commercial strategy of the business.
  • Develop Business case/proposal, project notes and present to internal and external persons.
  • Conduct competitor and industry research and develop novel strategic solutions.
  • Collect, organise and analyse data for the preparation of reports to Exco, Group stakeholders and senior management.
  • Maintain a database of macroeconomic, industry and other relevant data.
  • Facilitate the coordination of relevant internal, external partners and stakeholders or client meetings relevant to the commercial functions.
  • Provide day to day support for the director.
  • Perform any other administrative tasks required by the director.

Education / Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements

  • Postgraduate Degree in Finance, Economics or MBA from Tier 1/2 Institute.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an analysis role and business /marketing strategy role.
  • Highly self-motivated and demonstrates an ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects and/or assignments.
  • A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach.
