Job Title: Water Treatment Attendant

Location:
Ibese, Ogun

Job Purpose

Tend pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum filters, and other equipment used to decontaminate sewage.

Job Summary

Riggers set up, operate, repair and take down rigging–sophisticated systems of ropes, cables, pulleys, blocks and heavy equipment–for construction projects, equipment installations and related mechanical construction tasks.

Job Duties
  • Operates and tends equipment, such as pumps, conveyors, blowers, and vacuum filters, to decontaminate waste water.
  • Adjusts pipe valves to regulate flow velocity to separate sludge by sedimentation.
  • Turns valves to aerate sewage outflow and to control temperatures in tanks.
  • Reads charts, flow meters, and gauges to monitor plant operations and detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Collects samples to test water quality or purity.
Skills/ Required Knowledge

Production and Processing

Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of goods.

Mechanical

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.

Physics

Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, and applications including air, water, material dynamics, light, atomic principles, heat, electric theory, earth formations, and meteorological and related natural phenomena.

Mathematics

Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Engineering and Technology

Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications

Chemistry

Knowledge of the composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years experience of the job is required
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Possession of B.sc or HND is an added advantage
