Job Title: Corporate Planner

Location: Nigeria

Job Objectives
To develop, review and implement financial management systems and procedures, analyze financial and performance information,
provide advice and practical support on planning, budgeting and reporting, and provide management with reports to assist in decision-making.

Tasks
  • Analyze and report key financial data within the organization, ensuring that Managers receive timely, accurate and relevant information.
  • Contribute to medium and longterm business planning, budgeting, forecasting and implementation of performance measures for the business,
  • Advise Management on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions, offer professional judgment on financial matters and advise on ways of improving business performance.
  • Prepare the Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements and supporting working papers
  • Provide variances analysis from budget, identify added-value reporting opportunities far trend analysis and commentary to assist forecasting and budgeting requirement
  • Analyze financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
  • Manage the evaluation of proposed business plans and capital projects, including; the costing, assumptions, risks, sustainability and value for money
  • Consolidate departmental/SBU submissions and prepare final draft budget for submission to Executive Management
Competence Requirement
Our preferred candidates must show demonstrable Competence in:
  • Planning and Budgeting
  • Business Planning and Forecasting
  • Business Development
  • Financial Reporting
  • Principles, methodologies and practice of costing
  • Tools and techniques for planning, budgeting and reporting
  • Capital investment appraisal (business plans and projects) - principles, tools and techniques
Qualification/Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience, 5 of which must have spent in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Finance + MBA/ICAN/ACCA
  • Excellent oral & written communication and relationship management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, summarize key concepts and articulate appropriately
  • Self-starter who is driven to excel in all aspects of their role and seeks to break the status-qua and initiate improvements where necessary
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint in particular)
  • Experience with internal financial systems such as Sage VIP
  • previous experience in a similar role in the oil and gas sector is strongly preferred.
