Job Title: Painting Supervisor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Painting Supervisor will manage the entire operations covering surface preparation, painting of internal & external surfaces and inspecting all the paint applications with all the necessary painting instruments.
  • The painting supervisor should be able to apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To attend client weekly progress meetings and appraise the work fronts required to carry out the job as well as participate in the site kick-off meetings, associated JRA and post-mobilization inspections
  • To supervise the job on day-to-day basis and progress, as per the delivery schedules, as per the contract.
  • To monitor the Q.C.P and the method statements and ensure strict implementation of quality standards as per the set parameters and conducting regular quality audits
  • To organize the required tools and tackles and maintain the optimum re – order level stocks and deploy the required manpower as when required
  • Responsible for monitoring all parameters during blasting and painting.
  • Providing leadership to the team
  • To raise the monthly running bills, for the work completed, and follow up with the accounts for payments.
  • Suggest to the painters as well as the supervisors to maintain the required film thickness as well as the blasting profile and always render technical services
  • Monitor Abrasive Blasting, Wet Abrasive Blasting and Power & Hand Tool Cleaning per SSPC/Nace Standards
  • Follow up of the work permits (PTW) as well as comply with HSE & PPE Regulations during operations.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • NACE 11 or NACE 111 Certificate
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and discuss with contractors
  • The ideal candidate should be very flexible and able to adapt to new situations and challenges.

Added Advantage:

  • Candidate has previous work experience with GE for any blasting and painting works.
