Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Location:
Ugheli, Delta State

Essential Functions/Skills
  • Strong generalist/broad HR knowledge base in a manufacturing setting acting as a strategic operations business partner. Policy development and implementation, union avoidance, and training practitioner.
  • Proactive and positive source for situational, strategic, and developmental contributions to the plant HR team, Plant Manager, department managers/supervisors, and all hourly team-members
  • A strong, proactive leader requiring regular plant visitations with an engaging floor presence for extended periods each day
  • Develop rapport with all levels of plant employees from salaried to hourly to gain a clear understanding of the plant's current HR functional reality as it compares to the company culture, core values, vision, and expectations
  • The HRM will be mentored by the Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) across key HR projects related to process and system variability attaining standardization and best HR practices across the entire company.

  • Develop and enhance succession planning.
  • Oversee talent management.
  • Provide strategic leadership.
  • Develop strategic recruiting and retention plans.
  • Create and implement compensation and benefit plans.
  • Evaluate plans for cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, training and leadership development, career development, and benefits.
  • Establish plan for management succession.
  • Direct the employment activities for both certified and classified employees.
  • Develop and monitor procedures for processing applications.
  • Create relationships with HR vendors.
  • Evaluate and revise division functions.
  • Implement standard interviewing processes.
  • Monitor accounting systems for providing HR statistics.
  • Direct investigations of reports of misconduct, arrests, or illegal activities of employees.
  • Oversee salary administration.
  • Recommend terminations and additions to personnel.
  • Develop and monitor HR budget.
  • Prepare HR reports for management staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or Business Management (extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education).
  • 10 years related HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification a plus.
  • Outstanding professional demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a sound foundation in all facets of HR.
