We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Plant Manager

Location: Adamawa
Reports to: CEO/Managing Director

Job Objectives

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and facilitating day-to-day operations in an optimal and effective manner, to exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Increasing production, assets capacity while minimizing costs and maintaining current quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans for the rice mill plant in alignment with the overall objectives to ensure achievement of exceptional business performance.
  • Develop and manage the plant’s operations, budget maintenance, plant inventory and safety measures that ensures the elimination of avoidable costs and maintenance of strong quality standards.
  • Manage and co-ordinate key functional areas, processes and activities in the rice mill to ensure optimization of business activities, superior performance and high production levels in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure optimal levels of production cycle with major focus on excellent plant uptime, good asset utilization, strong inventory control, superior asset maintenance, robust facilities control, excellent manpower utilization, clear work standards and exceptional plant administration.
  • Oversee the establishment of quality control processes and ensure the adherence to control measures that promotes consistent production of good quality products with minimal wastages.
  • Drive world-class manufacturing capabilities and promote the adoption of best-in-class manufacturing practices to achieve optimal and superior production results.
  • Oversee the installation, efficient operation and maintenance of the rice milling plant ensuring that the manufacturing and production process delivers the desired order per cycle.
  • Lead the production, utility, quality assurance and procurement team through cost effective production with low wastage and high-quality standards while ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives, growth and profitability goals.
  • Promote the implementation and adherence to health and safety measures that safeguards the workers, customers and property from environment and safety hazards.
  • Cascade production targets and ensure initiatives are developed and implemented towards the achievement of agreed production goals.
  • Ensure that HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies are strictly adhered to and followed.

Qualification and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Higher National Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Degree or Lower Division, respectively.
  • A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage.
  • At least 15 years relevant experience in a Rice Milling Plant with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Deep understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) principles and practices.
  • Adept in safety procedures for plant operations and activities.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and building automation systems.
